John Anthony Fernandez, known as Vamplust in the furry fandom and known registered sex offender, arrested for parole violations

People who are released on parole are expected to follow the rules which are dictated to them by the corresponding parole authority. Many individuals appear to have the misconception of parole or the purpose. Parole is a means to allow individuals to serve their time while not being incarcerated in prison. After someone is released on parole they have restrictions on their behavior, lifestyle, relationships, work and other restrictions which may be instituted depending on the circumstances of their incarceration.

John Anthony Fernandez is one of these individuals who believed the rules did not apply to them. While the rules of parolees are generally not public record, there are ways to determine the rules being applied in general to most offenders, including sex offenders.

Fernandez was arrested in 2014 apart of “Operation Glass House,” a statewide initiative launched by the Illinois Attorney General’s office. He was charged with seven counts of possessing child pornography and three counts of dissemination of child pornography.

Based on the conviction of child pornography charges he was given a 10 year prison sentence. The sentences are given based on sentencing guidelines in the state or region. In 2019, he was released on parole, which is a privilege to allow people to complete their sentence outside of prison. However during his time on parole he violated the conditions of his parole which ended in revoking his parole on November 18, 2020.

When parole is revoked the individual may be in prison for an average of one to six months before they’re allowed to resume or request parole.

On December 30, 2020, Fernandez was released on parole.
