Protecting people from harm is important to running any community. There are a variety of dangerous individuals, most certainly predators who attempt to infiltrate the community in order to prey on others.

Information on Registered Sex Offenders

SOMAPI, a SMART initiative, offers a full report on both adult and juvenile offenders. Based on the report one should come to the determination removing offenders from situations where they may re-offend is the most appropriate decision.

Examples of Registered Sex Offenders Being a Liability and Security Risk

In Columbus, Ohio two registered sex offenders were arrested assaulting minors at ComFest and Zoombezi Bay
Another individual who infiltrated the local furry community in Columbus, Ohio while violating parole
In California a well known register sex offender Daniel Llamas, known by Growly or TORA in the furry community, was arrested for a crime involving minors.

The Community Needs a Call to Action

The community must assist in keeping everyone safe from high risk individuals, reach out to conventions and request Registered Sex Offenders be prohibited from attending.

In addition, AAE and FurCon reserve the right, at the board’s discretion, to deny membership or attendance to anyone with a documented history of sexual violence, including inappropriate conduct towards minors
